Siebler And Schmeichel Changes Business Name

Ben Siebler of Investment Advisors Inc. said his company’s newname is a better reflection of the services his firm provides itsclients.

A new sign was erected Friday at the former Siebler and SchmeichelRetirement Planning Inc. offices at 1910 N. Bell St., and the firmsent letters to its clients informing them of the change.

Siebler said the switch “is going to be seamless for the clients,”who will not notice any changes in the services the firm provides. The only change clients will notice, in fact, is the letterhead,Siebler said.

“I think our name better represents what we already do,” Sieblersaid. “We’re finding ourselves more in an advisory role than everbefore. A lot of that has to do with the economy and what’shappened with the investment industry as a whole, the marketshaven’t been kind over the last 10 years to a lot of people. Ithink we’ve done a good job guiding our clients through thevolatility, because we’re holding onto what we’ve built.”

The previous name, highlighting the retirement planning aspect ofthe firm, “was way too specific,” partner Jim Schmeicheladded.

“Retirement planning is just one aspect of this whole comprehensivewealth management industry we’re in,” Siebler said. “The industryhas changed so much.”

In a letter to clients, the firm referred to “the evolution of ourrole in client relationships, as well as the significant growth ofour business.”

“Our new name better defines both our business and the services weprovide,” the letter said. “Not only do we help clients withretirement and investment planning, but we also offer advisoryservices such as comprehensive wealth building and managementstrategies. As the financial services industry changes, we striveto change with it so our clients have access to the latest trendsand innovations in money management.”

Siebler and Schmeichel started the firm as The Investment Office ofSiebler and Schmeichel on West Sixth Street in September1990.
